LOVE THAT BLACK GOSPEL MUSIC!

About fifteen years ago a friend of mine in Des Moines were talking one day about our mutual love of Black Gospel music. We decided that it would be enjoyable to visit a local African American Church in Des Moines. The one we attended one Sunday morning was the St Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church just north of downtown Des Moines.

The only problem was it lasted, before we left due to my hunger, beyond an hour an a half and the minister still hadn't got up for the sermon. The energy and enthusiasm were incredible. The people attending had to have been exhausted by the time they left! I had never experienced that much excitement during a big time Rock concert.

Of course not just one Hallelujah was said. It was always followed by three or four more! Then that was followed by "Jesus is good! Just like Campbell's Soup! MMMMM GOOD!!" With that kind of  enthusiasm, I probably would still be attending church on a regular basis.
