IS THERE AN EGG SHORTAGE?
Is there really an egg shortage? It seems every time I walk by the egg cooler in our local grocery store, there plenty of egg cartoons stacked neatly by the dozen, 18 pack, six pack, and brown eggs. Lots and lots of eggs. Of course, they are still close to $3.00 a dozen. Why is that? I know the reason why as it has been reported, but!
Some of our local farmers, who have small flocks, are selling eggs at 1 to 2 dollars a dozen. I can't speak for other grocery stores, but, it seems odd that when you don't physically see a shortage, it is hard to rationalize a price hike or jab! I know! It is still a bargain and we do need eggs. Anybody check out the price of ostrich eggs lately?
