AH! THE SMELL OF MIMEOGRAPH PAPER IN THE MORNING!!

One of those sweet smells, that come to mind as a kid in school, was related to the old mimeograph machine. Ours was kept in the office/storage room on the top floor of our original school house at Laurel Consolidated School.

If there was anything to be copied, this was where it was done and this old simple, one copy at a time, machine would get the job done. The best part was when the teacher would pass out "copies" of an assignment and you would put the paper up to your nose and take a big "whiff." Wow! That was a great smell and was intoxicating.

That simple, cranking, one copy at a time machine was eventually phased out by the late 1960's. It provided one of those great memories of school days gone by! Will always wonder what was in that ink!
