BECAUSE MY COUSIN LARRY L. DID IT!

      One thing that has been on my "Bucket List" of sorts has been attending a drag race at Cordova, Illinois. There is a major event that will be held this week-end of August 26, 2017. After visiting with a reliable local about attending and also because I have always remembered that my cousin Larry Laverty had attended a race or more at Cordova,  back in the late 1950's-early 1960's. 

        A few years ago I attended a drag race at the track near Cedar Falls. I knew I wanted to attend others. I don't believe it will ever replace my desire for oval track racing like Indy or NASCAR, but, I am really looking forward to an exciting evening of racing!
