TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET!

        Recently, I heard this expression or somehow it popped in my mind and like most unusual things we me, I had to check it out. The origin is somewhat unknown, but, one source said that there was always a "hand Basket" close by when someone found themselves at the wrong end of the guillotine! This explanation seems logical if not very graphic to me and that's the one I think I'll stick to!
