TWO VERY CLOSE FRIENDS IN ONE DAY!
Yesterday was oh so long, but, oh so enjoyable! First, I left Williamsburg about 9:30 AM and headed to Marshalltown to meet an old classmate and dear friend, Tony Preston and his wife Jolene. They were up here in the area visiting relatives from their home in Prescott, Arizona. Of course, we met at Taylor's Maid-Rite for an early lunch and then went to Riverview Park where we could just relax and visit for a time. Getting to see Tony, even sometimes for a short visit is always such a pleasure. He is very special person!
From Marshalltown, I headed down 330 and on over to Urbandale, Iowa for an overdue visit with another very dear and close classmate Jerry Roberts and his wife Judy. Jerry and I go back to the first day of Kindergarten at Laurel Consolidated School. Then, we went all the way through school together until graduation in 1962. After a very good visit, the three of us went up to Tasty Taco's which has a restaurant at the Cobblestone Mall at 86th and Hickman close to where Judy and Jerry lives.
To be able to visit with two very close and dear friends in one day in different towns and also eat at TWO of my very favorite eateries, bar none, life can't get much better! And, the day wasn't over yet.I won't say the day got better after the two visits, but, it just continued on! Stay tuned.
