DRINKING @ 7AM IN THE MORNING!

      A lady today at the Burg Grocery,was talking about a day in which she had gotten off work from a 3rd shift, and to put it nicely, going home and indulging in "Happy Hour." It simply reminded me of a time when going to work in Marshalltown around 7 AM . I was a teenager and at the time working for the Marshalltown School System on their painting crew one summer.

       Looking down from the Center Street Viaduct to the Old Timer Tap I could see lots and lots of cars parked around it. I couldn't understand drinking that early in the morning. It was then mentioned to me that  lots of folks who work at night that 7 AM is like 5 PM and is "cock-tail hour" for this early morning bunch! Oh, now I get it!
