SPEAKING OF BUYING SCHOOL CLOTHES!

Speaking of my alpaca winter coat, that was purchased from Wormhoudt's Clothing Store in Newton, Iowa back in the late 1950's-early 1960's, here is another fond memory. I do recall going with my mom prior to the start of school to purchase new school clothes.

When all the clothes, for me, were "piled"  on the front counter. There were pants, shirts, socks, underwear, and who knows what else. But, it was a lot of clothing for one kid. When the clerk added it all up the grand total was real close to $100.00 give or take! Wow! I remember thinking about how much money that was for all these clothes. I would hate to think how much those items would be today. And, this was no Walmart!!
