ICE STORMS--WHY BACK IN LAUREL YEARS AGO!

All the TA-Do this past week about the ice-storm that struck many parts of the country, only reminded me of a weather situation when I was a teenager living south of Laurel, Iowa. I was headed from our farm going up the gravel road north and across the county road. The gravel road was icy, but, not enough to deter me from wherever I was headed and don't really re-call. It was probably a hot date.

Then all of a sudden just south of the Stineman farm, I encountered fog along with the ice. Somehow I got myself turned around a crawled back home. Yes, dealing with ice on gravel is one thing, but, not the combo of both!
