WONDER WHY POST OFFICE GOING BROKE?

      A guy came into the Burg Grocery today that retired from the post office a few years back. Of course, it reminded me of a story.

      During the late 1970's while selling real estate in the Des Moines area, I was referred to a young Vet who was working for the main post office in downtown Des Moines. 

     In the qualifying process, I sat down with him and asked him some basic questions about his income and etc. He indicated that his income was $30,000 annually and his job was going out front of the main post office and he retrieved the mail out of the drive-up containers and then brought them inside.

    I asked him what his duties were after coming back inside. His reply was he sat and waited till the next hour and went back out  and did it again! End of story!
