My first job out of college was with General Mills and it involved calling on retail grocers the likes of Hy-Vee which there were very view of them in the late 1960's. The car that was provided to me was a new plain jane Ford that did not have air-conditioning. Keep in mind this was 1967 to 1968 period.
General Mills provided autos to their traveling people with air-conditioning, but, only those south of the Mason-Dixie line. That first job only lasted less tan one year as I didn't care for traveling and the grocery retail business and never knew when they furnished cars with air to us Yankees!
