This past Monday I drove to Des Moines and stayed the night with my longtime friend and classmate Jerry Roberts and wife Judy. The following morning we drove to Norwalk to visit another classmate Bob Baker.
The three of us go back to the very first day of kindergarten in 1949 at Laurel Consolidated School in Laurel, Iowa. And, we all graduated from there in 1962. With so many people today attending huge schools, it is becoming unusual for anyone to go all the way through school with the same individuals.
It is funny and special at the same time to remember those two guys specifically on that first day of school. Nothing else to say! I won't forget that day for awhile!
